Learners stay and finish · Courses and engagement
Learners who stay and finish the course.
Chapters in order, feedback on every assignment, and an alert before anyone drifts away.
Names and figures on this page are illustrative.
Sample: in last term’s Grade 9 Science course, 22 of 25 learners finished the course.
How it gets there
One learner, one course, start to finish
Example
Kabir, Python basics
A sample learner in a five-week coaching course
- Week 1Kabir opens Python basics. The first chapter is open, with a video; the rest unlock in order, so he always knows what’s next.
- Week 2He submits the loops assignment as a link to his code. His teacher grades it and leaves feedback on it.
- Week 3He misses two classes and falls below the attendance threshold. He and his class teachers get an alert.
- Week 4Stuck on functions, he rewatches the unit’s video and re-submits, and his teacher re-marks it with a note.
- Week 5He skips a day of practice, and his streak carries on. The worksheet his teacher marked by hand counts toward his grade, and the final project unlocks.
What kept him in it, working today
- Chapters unlock in order
- Each with a video, a PDF, an article or a link, so there’s always one next step.
- Assignments that get an answer
- Submitted as a file, text or a link, then graded with feedback.
- Hands-on work counts
- Worksheets you mark by hand, like a lab record, count toward the grade.
- Attendance that speaks up
- Below your attendance threshold, the learner and their class teachers get an alert.
One missed day
A missed day shouldn’t end the habit
Most streaks go back to zero after one missed day, which punishes the learner for coming back. Ours carries on: the days before the miss still count.
Switch between the two rules to see the same fourteen days both ways. Kabir is a sample learner.
Sample: a learner’s last fourteen days, one of them missed. A streak that resets would read 8 days; ours reads 13, because the missed day didn’t reset it. A badge earned, and attendance of 23 of 25 classes.
FAQ
Questions about courses and engagement
- Coming soon
Mentoring. Sending a question or work to a vetted mentor, paid in credits.
- Coming soon
Certificates. A certificate when a learner completes a course, to download and share.
Can we build our own course?
Yes. Build your own syllabus, courses and units, not tied to any board or exam, including lab and project units. Chapters unlock in order, and each can carry a video, a PDF, an article or a link.
How do learners submit assignments?
As a file, as text or as a link, such as a GitHub repository. Teachers grade them and leave feedback.
Does offline work count?
Yes. Worksheets you mark by hand, like a lab record, a robotics build or an observation log, count toward the course grade.
What happens to a streak when a learner misses a day?
It carries on. Streaks and badges reward coming back; a missed day doesn’t wipe out the days before it.
Who gets the attendance alert?
The learner and their class teachers, when attendance drops below the threshold you set. Parents aren’t alerted yet: a view for parents is coming soon.
Can learners get help from a mentor?
Not yet. Mentoring — sending a question or work to a vetted mentor and paying in credits — is coming soon.
Do learners get a certificate when they finish?
Not yet. Certificates for a finished course are coming soon.
Send us one chapter.
After your first unit test, you’ll see your own sections side by side and each student’s weakest topics.
We’ll set it up as a course too, with its material and an assignment.
